Born in Yaoundé, Cameroon, Didier Likeng is a self-taught musician with solid experience in choirs and on stage.

Didier Likeng quickly became passionate about “Negro-spirituals” and Gospel, which he sang in his church choir from the age of 11.

At barely 13 years old, he formed and led several musical groups in Cameroon.

Conductor of his high school orchestra for several successive years and leader of several vocal groups in the city of Yaoundé (Cameroon).

After obtaining his series D baccalaureate in Cameroon, he arrived in Belgium to pursue university studies in agro-industry, studies which he successfully completed in 1995. However, this young agro-industrial engineer, fresh from his studies, decided out of passion to pursue a career in music.

Didier masters several musical instruments and sings with great talent.

He is passionate about "Negro-spirituals" and Gospel singing, which he has been practicing and studying for many years.

He quickly became one of the leading figures in European gospel music, regarded by his peers as a formidable composer, gifted artist and innovator.

He performs with numerous artists and professional or semi-professional musical groups throughout the world as musical director, bassist, guitarist...

Songwriter, arranger and artistic producer with more than 200 CD albums produced for artists in a wide variety of styles.

Singing teacher at the renowned ESMUC (Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya) in Barcelona since 2005.

Choirmaster and workshop leader, Didier Likeng is regularly asked to lead Gospel singing master classes and workshops in several countries.

From 1990 to 2002, he was a member of the prestigious French Gospel group "The Black and White Gospel Singers". Since its creation in 1992, he has led "The Marvellous Gospel Singers" in Belgium, as well as other groups such as "The Zion Gospel Spirit", "The Gospel Wings" and "Gospel Antology".

He has shared the stage with some of the biggest names in international Gospel music (The Five Blind Boys of Alabama, The Golden Gate Quartet, Isaac Cates, Bazil Meade, Liz Mc Comb, Rhoda Scott, The Dixies Humminburds, Hans Christian J, The Campbell Brothers, ... with over 3,500 concerts under his belt.

Since 2008, he has led the Gospel for Life tour in Belgium, a tour which brings together nearly 2,000 choristers every year in around fifteen concerts, with the very present desire to support the fight led by various associations who are keen to improve the human condition and to share his passion for gospel singing with amateur choristers who agreed to sing their solidarity in favor of life.
