A journey through the repertoire of certain regions such as Sicily, Puglia, Campania, between song and percussion, to discover how the drum can support the song, the voice can accompany the rhythm ...
Emanuela offers a dive into the culture of southern Italy through the transmission of certain songs, through work on the timbre and the styles of performance typical of these regions, and through the exploration of the traditional link between song, dance and rhythm which characterizes a good part of this repertoire. Along with the transmission of songs, the course will also focus on the study of certain techniques on tamburello and tammorra, instruments typical of these regions and which traditionally accompany this repertoire. Southern Italian frame drums are traditional percussion instruments of different sizes, with or without cymbals. They are generally used to accompany songs, music and dances like pizzica pizzica, il ballo sul tamburo, tarantella calabrese, tarantella siciliana, etc. The course is collective and no knowledge of music theory or music theory is required.
The course is open to any level. Depending on these, different groups can be created. For those who wish, the teacher can provide the instruments to students who do not have them. In this case, report it to the organization.
Maximum number of trainees: 10
