The internship will take place at l'Ancien Atelier Willems : Avenue de Houffalize, 56F to B-6800 Libramont-Chevigny
Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Landscape as a direct experience where the work on the motif is one of the essential points of this approach. If two-dimensional copying a two-dimensional surface presents no difficulty, choosing to draw on the pattern and to go from three to two dimensions is however much more complicated. Therefore, I will propose during this internship to address and solve the difficulties inherent in the passage between these two dimensions because to draw a landscape must make a number of decisions : determine its setting, stylize or interpret. We must also perceive the atmospheric perspective, the ratios of magnitudes, the values of shadows and light, etc...
But more important than anything, we must LOVE what we see, become familiar with its subject as long as necessary, that it becomes in our eyes as a friend of long standing. The objective of this internship will also be to develop the participant's own artistic grammar, target the sensitivities of each for such or such modes of graphic expression.
Documentation will be available to participants on the artists who have treated the landscape from Hubert Van Eyk to David Hockney.
