Let yourself immerse yourself in the rhythms of West Africa with the Griot Zouratié Koné!
Burkinabe Zouratié Koné is a master percussionist from a family of Griots (traditional healing artists) who masters several instruments of West African tradition (djembe, tama, longa, ngoni, kora, balafon).
Oral tradition, this outstanding musician knows hundreds of different rhythms of Burkina Faso, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Niger, Mali, Guinea, etc. as well as many songs.
Each rhythm of the African tradition is an open window for the knowledge of African culture in a broad sense, when it is deeply related to the fundamental moments of the organization of society: baptism, marriage, festivals, rituals of foundation of a village, accompanying the cycle of seasons in agriculture, etc....
During the workshop, you will have the opportunity to understand and use different rhythms and traditional African harmonies that you can reproduce on your usual instruments. It will also be an opportunity to learn to play with traditional instruments (you will have djembe, tama, longa, ngoni, kora, balafon).
