Description

Emanuela offers a dive into the culture of southern Italy through the transmission of certain songs, also through work on the timbre and performance styles typical of these regions, and through the exploration of the traditional link between song , dance and rhythm which characterize a good part of this repertoire.

Along with the transmission of songs, the course will also focus on the study of certain techniques on tamburello and tammorra, instruments typical of these regions and which traditionally accompany this repertoire.

Frame drums from southern Italy are traditional percussion instruments of different sizes, with or without cymbals. They are generally used to accompany songs, music and dances like pizzica pizzica, il ballo sul tamburo, tarantella calabrese, tarantella siciliana, etc.

The course is collective and no knowledge of music theory or music theory is required.

The course is open to all levels. Depending on these, different groups can be created. For those who wish, the teacher can provide the instruments to students who do not have them. In this case, report it to the organization.
