Description

With DANCE and AFRO MUSIC and exercises of conscience, this stage opens us a door to reconnect with us, with the present and with nature.

This workshop draws its cultural traces of the African populations brought by force to America to work as slaves ... who sometimes escaped form free communities: Quilombos and Palenques.

In order to connect with this African journey, we will work on several cultures, mainly the Yoruba culture, native to Nigeria and Benin, very present on the American continent, and the Mandingo culture of West Africa.

Following the teaching of the Orixas, and through rhythms, songs and dances, we will reconnect with the very concrete elements of nature, as well as with ourselves. We will work in consciousness and in depth the earth, the water, the fire and the air, constitutive of all life.

The Mandingo spirit will help us to find the African rhythm that has been beating in us since time immemorial. That's why we can alternate dances and songs, through percussion. This approach will expand our emotional and rhythmic palette and, surely, free us collectively !

Equipment

Arm yourself with percussion instruments : set of doum-doums, djembes, congas, agogo ... according to your possibilities.
