Description

Writing a series is above all writing a story, longer than a cinema film, and which must respond to specific narrative constraints: the hero's journey, the obstacles and antagonisms, the changes made, and what the character will have to lose to achieve success.

This is great fun for a week!

There is no need to come up with a specific idea for a topic, or a concept; but rather come with an anger, a desire, a point of view, and also if you want it a piece of music that hypnotizes you, a photo that torments you, a newspaper article that irritates you or makes you laugh, a passage from novel, a poem ...

Brief overview of the workshop week:

We will analyze the series that have marked the last ten years, to understand the specific serial writing and its increasingly rapid evolution. Creative writing exercises will alternate with film analyzes to allow trainees to build a "toolbox".

We will work on the personal projects of the interns in order to be able to write a document - pre-bible - containing the concept of the series, the theme and the subject, the large arches of the series through the objectives and stakes of the characters.

Exchanges with trainees from other workshops will be organized in order to prepare trainee authors for the oral pitch test.
