Description
Musical improvisation is as important as the music itself.Western music has moved away since the 18th century. In other cultures, it has always been a common practice. Jazz has brought it back to the fore, but for many, playing without score remains difficult. We will discuss improvisation during this workshop with an auditory, intuitive but also analytical approach. Through a repertoire ranging from traditional music to jazz, detours by songs, old music, ... we will explore the different fields (sound, melodic, rhythmic, harmonic, structural ...) which constitute the bases of the improvisation and dive into this fascinating world. Harmony, keystone of tonal improvisation, will be put into practice "physically" by the work of instrumental and / or vocal polyphonies. The rhythm, it will be approached perceptively before moving to a solfegic analysis. The integration of participants from different levels is one of the major issues of this internship.
Level
The integration of participants of different levels is one of the major challenges of this course.
The course is accessible to any musician over the age of 16 with a few years of practice. However, it is accessible from the age of 14 subject to clear motivation (must send a cover letter).
Everyone brings their instrument (it is preferable that the keyboardists also bring a keyboard) and if necessary their own amplification equipment (light: It is only a question of balancing the acoustic level of the different instruments).
Must send a cover letter.
