How do you make "it" groove ? The groove is a specificity of African-American music. It is found in funk, soul, hiphop and gospel.
How to make so that, in addition to resting on the rhythm (bass, drums), the singer is able to generate it and instill in the public an irresistible and irrepressible desire to dance ?
Groove is to breathe life into the rhythm.
This workshop proposes to explore this question through an introspection :
- note values in the body
- gestures that punctuate the syncope
- a melody illustrated by "danced" gestures
- silences that live and create dynamics and nuances
The "Keys to the Groove" workshop will also explore the issue of harmony and polyphony, drawing on a gospel repertoire.
This workshop is aimed at trainees who already have a practice of singing, music or dance: or even all three, it's even better...
This course requires good rhythmic predispositions.
