Amezian Laïla

S'inspirant des répertoires variés de ses origines maghrébines, Laïla Amezian a nourrit son style vocal de jazz, de ‘’world music’’ mais aussi des rencontres faites au gré des années. Tout en faisant des détours par le théâtre et la danse, elle a accompagné de sa voix des formations aussi diverses que Studio Pagol, Ys, Oblomow, Qayna.. Elle est également régulièrement sollicitée pour des projets ponctuels : Uit de Bol au KVS, Shouting Fence au Kaai Theater, DJ Grazzhoppa's DJ Bigband... Elle collabore aussi à des musiques de film et documentaires, dont Generation B. Parallèlement, elle développe des projets personnels tels que Arabanda, Bast ou encore TriOde. En partenariat avec l'Espace Senghor à Etterbeek, Laïla Amezian lance Les Fatmas de Belgica, un projet de chorale autour de chants populaires du nord du Maroc dans la tradition polyphonique européenne. En 2019, elle monte le groupe Les Sheikhs Shikhats en hommage à ces figures artistiques qu’étaient les shikhats. Un projet autour de la musique chaabi du nord du Maroc qui met à l’honneur le sens de la fête et de la convivialité avec une musique qui rassemble.

Inspired by the varied repertoires of her Maghrebi origins, Laïla Amezian has nurtured her vocal style of jazz and world music, as well as meetings made over the years. While doing detours through theater and dance, she accompanied with her voice formations as diverse as Pagol Studio, Ys, Oblomow, Qayna .. She is also regularly solicited for one-off projects: Uit of Bol at KVS, Shouting Fence at Kaai Theater, Grazzhoppa's DJ DJ Bigband ... She also collaborates on film and documentary music, including Generation B. At the same time, she develops personal projects such as Arabanda, Bast and TriOde. In partnership with Espace Senghor in Etterbeek, Laïla Amezian launches Les Fatmas de Belgica, a choral project around popular songs from northern Morocco in the European polyphonic tradition. In 2019, she created the group The Sheikhs Shikhats in tribute to these artistic figures that were the Shikhats. A project around the chaabi music of northern Morocco that celebrates the sense of celebration and conviviality with music that brings people together.
