Marc Frankinet

Belgian trumpeter, Marc Frankinet received numerous first prizes, at the conservatories of Liège and Brussels, while learning his favorite instrument, the trumpet.

His eclectic career has taken him from the Orchestre Philharmonique de Liège to jazz, improvised music, contemporary music and even variety.

He has played in numerous groups: Ensemble Musique Nouvelle, La Grande Formation, Pierre Lognay Quintet, Jojoba, Chapuis Street Big Band, Sinequa, Blue Velvet, Michel Marissiaux band, Tout est joli/ All is pretty, Garrett List Ensemble.

He develops his personal projects of original compositions in duo with pianist Georges Hermans and in trio with Jean-Louis Rassinfosse (2 albums).

His latest project is a quartet with Jacques Pirotton, guitar, Benoit Vanderstraeten, bass and Antoine Cirri, drums (1 album).

Alongside his career as a musician, Marc Frankinet has taught for the Fédération Wallonie Bruxelles at the Visé and Waremme music academies. He is also a teacher trainer at the Institut de Formation en cours de carrière. He has supervised the brass course at the AKDT (Royale Académie internationale d'été de Wallonie) for over 15 years. Thanks to his experience and pedagogy, he is in demand as a jury member for assessments in academies and colleges.
