Lazarevitch Serge

From 1975 to 1979, he studied at Boston's Berklee College of Music. During this period, he played with various local groups and met Mike Stern, Pat Metheny & Bill Frisell. After returning to Europe in 1979, he settled in Belgium, teaching at the Conservatoire de Liège and taking part in the Belgian jazz scene alongside Ch. Loos, M. Herr, J. Pelzer, S. Houben...

In 1981, he returned to Paris and played with numerous French and international musicians: A. Romano, J-F Jenny-Clarke, A. Hervé, J. Lovano, E. Rava, P. Danielson. From 1989 to 1991, he was guitarist with the Orchestre National de Jazz conducted by Cl. Barthélémy. He leads his own groups (Trio & Quintet), with whom he has made several recordings praised by the press.

He participates in numerous groups, and was again a member of the O.N.J. under D. Levallet from 1997 to 2000. At the same time, he is coordinator of the jazz departments at the C.R.R. de Perpignan (1988-2010) (holder of the CA de Jazz since 1987) and the C.R.R. de Montpellier (since September 2010), and runs courses in Europe and Africa.
