Nino Naneishvili

With a Master's degree in Sacred Music, she graduated in 2009 from the Tbilisi State Conservatory. She is also a doctoral candidate at Illia State University, where she studied ethnomusicology. She has been a member of various folk ensembles and church choirs, and actively participates in traditional music concerts in Georgia and abroad; she is professor of Georgian folk songs and chants at the University of Church Singing and director of Ialoni - an ensemble of male and female singers (which has recorded five CDs).

Nino is also a teacher with the Alilo Ensemble (Bolnisi Cultural Center) and has cooperated with the Georgian Patriarchate Singing Center. She has worked for the newspaper Kartuli Galoba (Georgian Song) and organizes lecture-concerts on singing and Georgian song. She has also taken part in various scientific conferences and is the author of several radio programs and newspaper articles. She runs "Singing Saturday" workshops for social groups (National Museum of Georgian Folk Songs and Instruments. Tbilisi), cooperates with the Drama, Theatre and Performance Rose Brufford College (London) and organizes lecture-concerts and workshops in Georgia, England, Poland, Holland, Ukraine, Austria, Lithuania and Belgium.

Between 2015 and 2016, she was a member of the Cultural Strategy Coordination Group of the Ministry of Culture of Georgia. Every year, she organizes "cultural tours" across Georgia, with Ialoni members and local artists.
