Pauline Oreins

Pauline Oriens

Pauline Oreins is a Belgian accordionist, pianist, composer and creator.

She started music at the age of 5 and trained at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Genève (CH), at the Royal Conservatory of Mons (Arts2, BE) and at the IMEP in Namur (BE) where she obtained a master's degree in piano, chromatic accordion and chamber music.

Her career, initially classical, led her to be a winner of numerous competitions (Roubaix International Competition, Lille International Competition, Epta Competition...), to play as a soloist with several orchestras (Walloon Chamber Orchestra... ) and to perform on the stage of festivals such as Les Musicales de Beloeil, Les Inouïes…

Nourished by these experiences and eager to explore music differently, she takes the path of a more personal art, closer to her sensitivity. Passionate about the mix of arts, chamber music and the artistic and human encounters that result from it, she regularly collaborates with other disciplines such as theater, cinema, dance, circus or photography.

Pauline is interested in different musical styles such as tango (Quintessence, Allô? show, Equinox Quintet, Iguazu Quintet), traditional music (Anmoor), baroque and contemporary music (Les Heures Bleues) or even electronic music. In 2021, she released her first album of compositions - Ashes on the Cliff -, a multidisciplinary concept, in duo with violist Carmen Martinez.
She regularly composes for the cinema (C'est tout comme!, Casting diun padre, CASH by Giulia Goy, documentary Sous la carapace), for the performing arts (Le mangeur d'Etoiles, contemporary circus show Cie La Bulle d 'Art) and directed two short films (Preludes, Ashes on the Cliff). She is also a top stage manager on the production of “Singing in the rain” by Cie Ars Lyrica.
She is part of the multidisciplinary artistic collective Khaos.corp and teaches piano and accordion at the Berchem Saint-Agathe Academy (Bxl).
