Hélène Feye is fascinated by the painting techniques of the Van Eyck brothers and the enigmatic themes of painters such as Jérôme Bosch and Breughel. After training in drawing with architect Gérard Dutry at the Université des Aînés in Louvain-la-Neuve (2003-2006), she took up oil painting at the Atelier Truffino in Brussels (2006-2008), and finally received instruction (2008-2016) from painter Jean-Pierre Poidevin, who empirically revived the painting technique of the Van Eyck brothers, lost through oblivion. After having copied a lot to learn, she has now embarked on an original contemporary allegorical painting, nourished by the sources of traditional writings.
