Sara Holgado

Flamenco singer who comes from Olvera (Cádiz), and like many Andalusians emigrated to Catalonia, Tarragona where she was born in 1984. Since she was a child, artistic expression was her great ally, both drawing and painting, as well as music, becoming flamenco singing. as a fundamental pillar thanks to his father's hobby.

After fifteen years she returned to Andalusia, settling in Seville and studying Fine Arts at the University. She then expanded her studies with a doctorate and master's degree in Visual Arts and Education with a Constructionist Approach at the UGR of Granada, finishing in 2009. At the same time, she began to train as a self-taught cantaora until in 2011 she returned to Seville and learned in schools of dance with teachers like Andrés Marín and Úrsula López among others and with singers like Lole Montoya, Paco Taranto, El Lebrijano and Juan José Amador.

She has sung at the Atlantic Andalusian Festival in Essaouira, at the Ramadan Festival in Fez, at the Islamabad International Dance Festival, Festival Vents de Vilaine in Pont Réan. In 2016 she won second prize in the Estudio Uno Trilogy Competition in Madrid. In 2017 she participated in “Farruca del Extrarradio” with Marco de Ana and Pedro G Romero, she hosted 21 grade Programming at the CICUS in Seville. In 2018 she is the singer of the show “Lola” directed by Úrsula López, and she sings in Barbalé Flamendo Tablao Oslo with Karen Lugo and José Maldonado, as well as in several editions of the Oslo Flamenco Festival. In 2019 she participates in the TAC of Valladolid with Varuma Teatro presenting the Show El Sindrome de Stendhal, awarded for best Street Show. In 2020 he released his first album with “Triando”, a flamenco fusion project with his own songs and with whom he has also participated in the Flamenco Comes from the South Program on Tour 2022, he has given a Recital of the Andalusian Circuit of Peñas Flamencas organized by the Provincial Federation of Flamenco Peñas of Cádiz and by the Andalusian Institute of Flamenco and in 2022 he toured the Scandinavian Countries with the show La Leyenda directed by choreographer José Manuel Álvarez. She currently works and tours with various projects that she shares with the dancer and choreographer Cristina Hall, among them: “Las tres acacias” which they presented at La Madraza in Granada and “Dulce Espina” at the Andalou Festival in Avignon. She recently released her first personal album titled “Invierno” with mostly original songs and her own compositions, and features artists such as Juan Antonio Suarez Canito, Rycardo Moreno, Alfredo Lagos, Salvador Gutiérrez, Tino van der Sman and Javier Galiana among others.
