SARAH KLENES

° Singer, performer and teacher °

Her career oscillates between dance and music, and more precisely, voice.

She is part of various musical projects, ranging from jazz/folk/pop (OakTree, HowTown, Brussels Vocal Project) to street art (Les Superluettes), as well as the Nomade traveling theater project (Independent Little Lies Collective). Since 2015, she has performed in 2 projects (solo ECOUTE# mixing movement and voice, Samrith with Mathilde Strijdonk) and has just started a creation with choreographer Lisbeth Gruwez (The Sea Within for 10 dancers).

Today, after 7 years of teaching jazz singing at the Schaarbeek academy, she devotes herself to developing her own courses around voice, improvisation and movement within various structures (Wisper Leuven, Maison de la création de Laeken, PianoFabriek, AKDT de Libramont, etc.). She is regularly invited as a coach for projects combining dance, theater and music.

Her approach to voice and singing is nourished by multiple encounters with teachers of voice, singing, dance, somatic techniques such as BodyMindCentering and Feldenkrais, music and improvisation. Her aim is to make each course a holistic experience of music and movement within each individual.
