Marc Steffens is an organist at the decanal church of Saint-Nicolas in Eupen and organ teacher at the music academies of Eupen, Arlon and the OVA academy.

He studied organ first with Joëlle Sauvenière, organist at Liège's Saint-Paul Cathedral, then at the Conservatoire Royal de Liège, where he benefited from the teachings of Anne Froidebise and Arnaud Van de Cauter. Marc Steffens holds a didactic master's degree in organ as well as a specialized master's degree, completing his final studies under the direction of Bernard Foccroulle. He has taken master-classes with Pieter van Dijk, Frank van Wijk (Alkmaar), Sietze de Vries (Groningen), Olivier Houette, Dominique Ferran (Poitiers), Wolfgang Zerer (Hamburg), Christophe Mantoux (Paris) and Jean-Baptiste Robin (Versailles).

Marc Steffens likes to promote his instrument at various events (Open Churches, Heritage Days, Nuit des Coteaux, Fête de l'Orgue in Liège, Musikmarathon d'Eupen, etc.). He performs regularly in concert in Belgium, but also in France and Germany, where he played the "Hip-Orgue" show in Trier in 2017. He recently collaborated with the Ostbelgien Festival in Eupen and with the Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège under the direction of Gergely Madaras.

Marc Steffens is a board member of the Union Wallonne des Organistes (UWO), a member of the Organ Commission of the Diocese of Liège, moderated by Anne Froidebise, and of the non-profit organization "Liège les Orgues" (liegelesorgues.eu), which organizes the "Fête de l'Orgue" in Liège.

Finally, Marc Steffens is curator of the historic Pereboom organ (1893) in the chapel of the Filles de la Croix in Liège, and is the 2017 winner of the Fonds Hubert Schoonbroodt, a prize awarded every two years to a promising young organist.
