Romain Corbisier

Romain Corbisier is a French composer and conductor who studied at the Royal Conservatories of Brussels and Mons (Master degrees in composition, conducting and writing). His compositions have received international recognition, with several awards and distinctions in Europe (Czech Republic, Italy, Croatia...).

A specialist in writing for orchestra, his catalog covers all genres and all types of formation (from symphonic music to duets, and from sacred music to opera). His work Une guerre aveugle (13/11/15), Op. 16, composed in the wake of the Paris and Saint-Denis attacks, has been recorded by the American label Ablaze Records.

As a conductor, he has conducted orchestras in Belgium, France, Finland, Denmark and Portugal, and worked with leading conductors such as Jean-Sébastien Béreau, Jorma Panula, Alexandre Bloch and Daniel Gazon. He is currently Musical Director of the Orchestre Symphonique de Namur.

Since 2018, at the Institut Royal Supérieur de Musique et de Pédagogie in Namur, he has been a professor of writing (in charge of the Master in classical writing), instrumentation, orchestration, and training in contemporary languages.
