Daniel Donies - Actor, director, teacher

Twenty or so theater roles.

Six years on all the stages of Europe as a "visual comedian" in two "Founambules" shows (over 600 performances in 6 years, award for best comedy show of the year 2000 in Germany and Switzerland),

Two appearances as a chorister with the TRM and a few film roles make up a "digest" of his performances as an actor.

Among some fifty stagings - theater, dance and various events (Vilar, National, Tanneurs, Martyrs, Brigittines, Senghor, Poème, Botanique, Balsamine in Brussels, but also in numerous cultural or dramatic centers in Wallonia), Daniel Donies has devoted himself to staging some fifteen operas - Cimarosa, Mozart, Puccini, Verdi, Purcell, Massenet (Festivals d'été, Théâtre National de Belgique, Festival de Semur-en-Auxois "le petit Salzbourg Français", Palais des beaux arts de Charleroi, Opéra Royal de Wallonie and various cultural and dramatic centers in Belgium, Switzerland, France and the Netherlands).

As a theater teacher, he worked for 4 years at the lAD and has been giving internships at the international summer academy of Wallonia for more than 35 years.

At the Brussels Conservatory, from 2005, he gave body training, Clown and Jester classes to drama students.

He also gave lessons in lyrical art and worked on the theatrical chorus as well as on the energetic relationships between chorus and heroes in the specific field of ancient tragedy.

At the Conservatoire de Liège, he taught lyrical art from 2007 to 2014.

Since 2010, he has regularly given masterclasses for singers and instrumentalists.

He regularly offers various private courses in dramatic art and scenic singing.

He is the author or adapter of theater plays, alone or in groups, of opera librettos, of a film script and the adaptation of a novel for the stage.

He also directed a short film, "Le caddie", released in cinemas in Wallonia in 2008.
