Geneviève Ghyoot

In my travel journals, what drives me is the trace of what I see; curiosity too; showing or noticing the ordinary through observation, capturing with passion "the emotion of the moment", daring, drawing, writing, coloring, starting again, going deeper, going further, having fun... through graphics, writing and color.

I use simple tools such as colored or graphite pencils, markers or ballpoint pens, combined with watercolor, collage... The subjects are diverse: pieces of life, rural and urban landscapes, an unusual event, an interesting place. My notebooks are a memory, a story, traces of my footsteps. They bear witness to and give meaning to the expression of my life.

A visual artist and art teacher with a Master's degree from the Constantin Meunier Academy - "Human body, graphics and images", I've been running creative workshops for adults and children for over 40 years. For the past 4 years, at the RHoK academy in Etterbeek, I have been continuing my research in the "Project" workshop.
