Description

Cuban Dances: A Journey Through Tradition and the Energy of Movement

This workshop offers a week-long journey into the heart of Cuban dance, where technique, rhythm, joy, community, and tradition converge to bring to life this extraordinary dance system of the island.

During the week, we will explore popular and Afro-Cuban dances, such as Salsa, Son, Rumba, Afro dances, Rueda de Casino, and Cha-cha-cha, among others. We will delve into the technical aspects, but also into the vitality and expressive and cultural richness that each movement brings.

The richness of these dances will allow us to listen to and nourish the body, starting with a connection to the ground and the sometimes powerful and rhythmic movements characteristic of this culture. This is accompanied by their social and community dimension, which invites us to connect. To this end, we will offer various methods that promote social dance, based on an approach developed over many years of experience.

The workshop will take place in dialogue with the music workshops running simultaneously, creating moments of dance with live music, where the body, percussion, and melodies respond to and enrich one another in a true moment of celebration.

We look forward to seeing you; life is a carnival! 🎶💃
