Description

Discover the art of accompaniment and fingerpicking repertoire (used by many singers).

Learn the basic principles (chords and progressions / finger placement / rhythms and arpeggios / ear training, the relationship between instrument and voice, interpretation, improvisation) using a simple repertoire of traditional and popular songs and music.

Explore pentatonic scales and learn the basics of improvisation using folk licks.

Practice simple pieces for multiple guitars (ensemble music).

This week-long workshop will be offered to students in three parts:

  • Simple group techniques
  • Exploration of diverse repertoires (songs – Celtic music
  • American folk – ragtime – acoustic blues – country music)
  • Guitar ensemble (through world music)... The joy of playing together

Level

This workshop is open to everyone, regardless of age, who wants to discover, in a simple and progressive way, the various techniques offered by fingerpicking guitar accompaniment for singing, arranging songs, exploring Celtic and American folk music, and accompanying other musical instruments, thus discovering the joy of ensemble playing.

Knowledge of basic chords is required.

Equipement

Remember to bring your music stands, notepads, and spare strings.
