Description

Many artists, such as Sting, Peter Gabriel, Simon & Garfunkel, Kate Bush, and even Stromae, have always drawn inspiration from the repertoire and sounds of diverse traditions: Celtic, Balkan, and African music from all regions. This is evident whether they incorporate traditional instruments or melodies into their compositions or reinterpret traditional songs, rearranging them in a more modern style.

It is in this spirit that Vincent Noiret invites you to work on a repertoire of pop, rock, and chanson songs that share a particular connection to folk/world music, while also exploring popular songs and giving them a more contemporary feel.

During this week, we will rearrange traditional pieces in this spirit, revisit some pieces in their original arrangements to understand their structure and organization, or reinterpret pieces from the pop, rock, and other repertoires, imbuing them with the colors of our instruments.
