Birgit Bornauw and Joachim Loneux offer a rare week-long immersion in Walloon music through its dance repertoire. Ensemble music workshop for all instruments.

In our course, we will work with traditional Georgian polyphonic songs, church songs, town songs, and ritual songs. Polyphonic songs for every event in life, from birth to death.

Choreographer and dance teacher, Boukson SERE offers a course focused on traditional West African dances, practiced as they are but also modified and enriched by Afro-contemporary dance, his preferred field.

The Balkan Brass Band workshop explores a wide variety of festive Balkan repertoires, learning pieces representative of the musical identities of various countries and regions (Macedonia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, Greece, Turkey, etc.). Melodies, ornamentation, harmonies, rhythms, improvisation: we will attempt to cover as many of these aspects as possible that contribute to the richness of Balkan music.

A comprehensive overview of styles and techniques not traditionally taught on the cello. The workshop will cover chopping, fingerpicking, chord systems, bowed and strummed accompaniment, bass work, and some melody learning (mainly Americana and Balkan).

Singing is like morning dew, it refreshes the traveler's path.

The bendir (also douf, mizhar...) is a frame drum without rattles. From the Maghreb to India, it is found in different forms and rhythmic traditions.

Based on a repertoire of rhythms from North Africa, the Middle East, and the Far East, this course will focus on the darbuka, or doholla, a chalice-shaped percussion instrument. The learning of darbuka playing techniques will be based on the modern split-hand technique, although the rhythms practiced will be drawn from a wide variety of traditions.

From the meyhane of Istanbul to the shepherd songs of the Anatolian yaylas, this workshop offers an immersion in the folk music and songs of Turkey. Through various repertoires, we will explore modes (makams), microtonality, rhythms, and ways of interpreting this music in an ensemble practice, with instruments and voices.

Applying classical and jazz technique within folk fiddling. 

Discover the modern bodhrán with musician and facilitator Marissa Waite in this week-long creative workshop. Explore sound control, triplets, ascending accents, and rhythm creation while developing your own expressive playing style. Through guided technical instruction, musical exploration, and a welcoming atmosphere, you'll gain confidence, develop new skills, and find fresh inspiration to fully embrace the bodhrán.

The course will focus on developing musical voice and expression, with sessions dedicated to whistle technique, tone, articulation and phrasing, as well as approaches to rhythm, ornamentation and lift. Particular attention will be paid to musicality rather than mechanics, and to how technique serves the feeling, form and intention within a piece.

Lluís Gómez teaches all types of techniques, from the basics to the most advanced and modern techniques, and caters to students of all levels.

L’atelier EXPERIENCE est une démarche d’expérimentation qui aboutit à un travail personnel. Le cinéma expérimental est fait de recherches intimes et d’exploration de l’image et du son. Nous travaillerons dans l’atelier à partir de photographies, de vidéos, d’enregistrements et d’archives sonores.

Le sonore comme medium de récit, de création, de transmission. Durant cette semaine nous allons apprendre les bases de la prise de son et du montage afin de créer des récits de tout type et expérimenter l’écriture par le sonore.
