Description

The Balkan Fanfare course offers to explore without complexes a whole variety of festive repertoires of the Balkans by learning pieces representative of the musical identities of various countries/regions (Macedonia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, Greece, Turkey, ...). Melodies, ornamentations, harmonies, rhythms, improvisations: we will try to approach all these aspects that make the richness of Balkan music.

Oral transmission will be favored (learning "by ear"), but written supports (scores, chord charts) can be provided if necessary.

The course is designed for instruments specific to fanfares (wind players, accordionists, tapanists, ...), but remains warmly open to valiant explorers wishing to fight with received ideas (in which case a prior discussion with the teachers is requested).
