Dive into the heart of flamenco art with "Immersion in the World of Flamenco Guitar", a course dedicated to music lovers and guitar enthusiasts. This course offers an in-depth exploration of the techniques, rhythms and harmonies that make the flamenco guitar rich and unique.
-The basics and subtleties of flamenco techniques (rasgueado, picado, alzapúa, etc.).
-The typical compás (rhythms) of flamenco palos such as soleá, bulería or alegría.
-The interpretation and accompaniment of flamenco singing and dancing. For this, we will hold several meetings with the singing and dancing students in charge of Sara Holgado and Pía Del Norte.
-Understanding the codes of flamenco and how to improvise.
-Composition: how to structure a falseta (small composition) so that it works, is coherent, what are the harmonies, the techniques used, etc.
This course aims to provide tools for understanding flamenco guitar in an overall vision, set in a context, in a history, linked to singing, dancing and an oral culture. And above all it will be a beautiful moment of sharing with the other flamenco trainees, a week full of meetings and good humor, all gathered around this very special art that was born in Andalusia a little over 2 centuries ago, flamenco.
Required level
This course is suitable for all guitarists who want to learn flamenco or deepen their knowledge in this art. It is preferable to have some experience with acoustic or classical guitar and a right-hand game with fingers and not with a pick.
Equipment required
Come with your guitar, preferably flamenco, classical at least. In the case of a classical guitar, it is necessary to buy a magnetic golpeador for flamenco guitar so as not to damage your guitar. You will also need something to film. In flamenco, we work without scores. All content can be filmed with your phone, a camera or whatever you want.
