Description

The Gypsy Fanfare course offers the opportunity to explore the popular Romanian and Gypsy festive repertoire, through learning adapted to each individual's specific needs.

All instruments (strings, winds, percussion, etc.) are welcome. A minimum level of 5 years of practice is recommended, but not necessarily essential (contact the teachers for further details).

The courses will take place partly in sub-groups, divided according to instruments and levels, in order to be able to best support trainees in the specificities of their practice and their expectations. The remainder of the time will be devoted to collective work on setting up and arranging the repertoire, in particular with a view to set everyone alight at the end-of-course party.

Aurel Budisteanu (accordion) will take charge of the instruments of the rhythm section, as well as certain melodists (depending on registrations).

François Postic (soprano saxophone) will mainly take care of the blowers, as well as possible other melodists (depending on registrations).

Required level

Although learning by ear is encouraged, sheet music (notes and letters) will also be provided for everyone's convenience. No knowledge of music theory is therefore necessary.

Minimum level required: 5 years of practice. For further information, please contact the teachers.

Equipment required

Recorder, music stand, music paper, mechanical pencil, earplugs.
