Description

Using pieces not typically found in the diatonic accordion repertoire (original works, compositions, sometimes gypsy jazz, songs, klezmer, classical, or Latin), Jonathan and Julien share the tools for providing accompaniment, rhythmic exercises, group arrangements, and improvisation. The workshop encourages listening to one another, letting go of sheet music, connecting with emotions, and making the pieces one's own.

The workshop may be divided into two levels to best suit everyone's needs.

Level

This workshop is for accordionists with at least four years of experience (fluid playing with both hands and familiarity with the keyboard) who wish to refine their playing and technique. Don't hesitate to contact them with any questions about the required level!

Equipment

Bring your accordion in G/C, two or three rows, and something to write, record, or film (if you wish). We work mainly by ear and sometimes from sheet music.
