Description
Street artist, multi-tasker
Street art is a field in which artists are most often called upon to manage several disciplines and several aspects of creation themselves.
We would like to focus on the creative aspect, enabling trainees to experiment with a wide range of tools, from acting to vocal and choreographic work, right through to the technical and scenographic aspects of a project.
This course is aimed at artists and people who would like to deepen their multi-tasking/street artist skills. By aiming for complete creation, everyone will then be able to deepen or learn about various tasks required for the creation of a project and to gain a basic understanding of many different fields.
Result
The ultimate goal is to present the project to the public.
For us the result is never finished, nevertheless it is always presentable. Whatever the form and duration of presentation, the location or the content, we want to allow trainees to experience the challenge of creation in a public space in a short period of time.
Towards multi-disciplinary learning
The main axes of the project are collective work and the multidisciplinary aspect inherent to the street arts. The aim is to give musicians access to the spoken word, actors the chance to learn a few musical chords, and anyone who wants to learn juggling or magic the chance to do so. All this to create a form where everyone can develop a still unknown aspect of their skills while incorporating them into a creation.
Working with space
Creating in a public space is a practice that requires in-depth awareness of the difficulties and facilities that this represents.
Many preconceived ideas of street art see it as someone randomly setting up in a public square to put on a show, usually for the general public. Except it's often much richer than that..
Contrary to what many people think, street performance doesn't mean being able to play anywhere - quite the contrary!
It's a matter of choosing the right space, so that it gives meaning to the subject being defended, and conversely, it's a matter of using everything around us to include it in the play.
To achieve this, the choice of location is extremely important, but we need to be aware of certain criteria in order to be conscious of this choice.
It also seems important to us to integrate our work into the public space in a gentle way, meaning that the space we occupy should be revealed by our presence rather than altered or hidden.
