Description

Course focused on the creation of small sculptures (max. 5cm), objects, jewelry.

The two techniques discussed will be sand casting and lost wax casting.

“Sand casting” is a technique for manufacturing sculptures, objects or jewelry by pouring molten metal into single-use foundry sand molds.

Ephemeral containers capable of receiving and preserving the imprint of a three-dimensional object and of resisting the pouring of molten metal (brass, bronze, copper, aluminum).

“Lost wax casting” is a precision casting process to obtain a metal sculpture, objects, jewelry (bronze, copper, aluminum) from a wax model.

The wax model is embedded in refractory plaster, will then be removed by heating during the operation and replaced by molten metal.
