Description

Internship objectives:

  • Discover and/or deepen the technique of clay turning
  • Experiment with the technique of pouring liquid clay into a plaster mold created from turned parts.
  • Make a few prints.

Procedure:

The first part of the week will be reserved for practicing the wheel and creating an alphabet of shapes and volumes as well as the selection of certain judiciously chosen pieces which will become the matrices of future plaster molds.

The second part of the week will be devoted to making molds (simple, one or two parts) and drawing pieces from liquid slip.

  • Production of several prints and variations of the part as it leaves the mold (deformation, assembly, addition of elements)
  • Biscuiting of prints.

Beyond the theoretical and technical markers that will mark the route, our steps will take pleasure in getting lost off-piste, in getting lost in imaginary spaces, in unearthing our pleasures, in surveying our desires...

“The earth insists on remaining without a master: its mass cannot be adjusted to anything, its impregnable singularity is to be free before any allusion to freedom begins. » (François Jacqmin)
