Description
Discover Walloon music, with Walloon dance tunes. Link with the Walloon dance workshop given by Aurélie Giet: learn to play for dance, learn to dance the music you play.
Work on ensemble playing, second voice, accompaniment and work on the impulses of the dance music.
In the Walloon manuscripts collections of the 18th and 19th centuries found in Wallonia, there is some magnificent music... written for the violin... In this course, the repertoire covered comes from the collections and these Walloon manuscripts. We will transpose it to the accordion, emphasizing the “dancing” side of the melodies. We will examine how to place the right impulses to make the music comfortable for the dancers.
We will work on the dances that correspond to their current practice: traditional dances such as the waltz or the scottish, or specific dances such as the maclotte or the passe-pied.
Required level

Be accustomed to playing in 2-count, 3-count and 6/8 time signatures
