Description
This course is intended for amateur and professional musicians in order to acquire instrumental techniques typical of TANGO and Argentinian and Latin American FOLKLORE. Thus allowing them to improve the quality of their playing regardless of the music they practice and which they wish to approach. The music will be worked on in a fun and oral transmission (non-academic) way.
- For all those who want to learn how to accompany and play melodies more freely
- sing/play with other musicians (strings, winds, voice, percussion, etc.)
- learn to make small arrangements of popular music.
- know how to make accompaniments, song introductions, etc.
- play with dancers!
Trainees will acquire theoretical and practical tools on :
- Rhythm and the art of accompaniment (“syncopes tanguera,” “marcato in 2, in 4,” “planchado,” “arrastres”)
- Typical tango phrasing: an excellent way to develop the freedom and creativity of phrasing which will be of great use in your daily musical practice, whatever your musical style.
On the last day in concert, we will accompany the tango dancing couples.
Required level
All levels. However, before the start of the course, we'll need to discuss how the week will unfold, so that there's something for everyone.
Equipment required
Own instrument (except pianists) and music stand.
