Description
For 6 days, we'll be working on the main elements of the technique of analyzing a play through physical actions.
This latest discovery by Constantin Stanislavski still remains little known outside Russia. The French-speaking world learned about it thanks to the book "L'Analyse-Action", written by my teacher Maria Knebel.
Madame Knebel, who assisted Stanislavski in his later years, devoted her life to developing and promoting this method worldwide.
In this course, we'll analyze the text of the play from an actor's point of view. We'll highlight what's happening in the play and what's happening in its various scenes.
We'll combine this work with active practice on a set. After the analysis, we'll try out the play in pairs or threes on the set, so that we can find real actions and genuine relationships in view of other characters.
At the end of the six days' work, each participant will learn how to build a role and organize conflicts in a scene. They will be given the means to fill every moment of their presence on stage with existence.
The method presented is developed by Boris Rabey and is based on over 30 years of experience.
Reading the text of the play before the start of the course is a prerequisite for entering the classroom.
