Description

Engraving is an expressive art.

The print - the engraving - and the printed image are terms which define a medium - a technique. Place of expression, its origin is the matrix, its specificity is the multiple - the series.

Engraving constitutes a set of techniques: from antique stamping to intaglio, from stamping to screen printing, from art offset to the search for individual expression.

During this course, intaglio (metal engraving) will rub shoulders with lithography. We will present the hollow image (intaglio) and the flat image (lithography).

What can these two techniques, whose approaches may seem opposed to each other, have to say about each other? To discover and explore during the course.
