Description
Do you want to dive into the teeming world of graphic novels? Try your hand at screenwriting? This workshop aims to support you in a writing project, by providing you with tools, an evolving approach and personalized feedback. This is a workshop that combines a collective and individual approach.
Throughout the week, we will cover different aspects of writing a graphic novel screenplay: intentions, pitch, synopsis, universe, story and structure, breakdown, characters, dialogues, voiceover, rhythm, secondary characters and themes, etc.
We will read together excerpts from graphic novels, discuss their construction, the springs used. Then, writing exercises will be proposed to you, in connection with your project, which will be built little by little. Most of the exercises will be individual, but we will sometimes have fun with exercises in pairs or collective. The written texts will then be shared with the group, in a friendly atmosphere.
Anaële will also suggest that you send her certain stages of your work (detailed synopsis, longer script excerpts) and take a moment to discuss them on a more individual level.
If you don't have a project yet, try to come with a theme that interests you, a desire, even very general. Let's bet that over the course of the week, a project will take shape in your head.
Required level
The course is open to everyone from the age of 16. No prerequisites are required, other than the desire to write.
Equipment required
A laptop
A notebook or notepad and something to write with
A desire to write in your head: if you can, think about your writing project before the course. If you have already thought about it, if you have an idea, a theme, or even the beginning of a story and characters in mind, you will get into the writing exercises more quickly. And you will make more progress in making your project a reality.
