Description

This workshop, centered on contemporary dance, offers in-depth work on improvisation techniques and methods to develop an anchored physicality and a fine awareness of the body in movement. Through an exploration of the physiological, repetition and interactions with live music (subject to a minimum number of registrations), we will experiment with the relationship to the body, space and sound. The objective is to create collective dance sequences and to bring out a common, readable and shared story.

By alternating technical exercises, improvisation devices and learning choreographic phrases from the repertoire, participants will refine their gestural vocabulary and their methodology to compose consciously.

This exploration laboratory will highlight the fertile tension between intuition and structure, to reveal living and organic choreographic stories.

Looking forward to exploring together!

“Being a dancer means choosing the body and the movement of the body as a field of relationship with the world, as an instrument of knowledge, thought, and expression |...| and, in this becoming of the self to the body, many techniques of movement intelligence never cease to help any individual, dancer or not, who engages in this quest.” Laurence Louppe in Poetics of Contemporary Dance
