This course is an introduction to jewelry and jewelry design.
Through learning techniques and the use of basic tools, you will explore and experiment with “making”.
You will be guided by drawing games and model creations to develop your style and discover the creation and design process.
This year's theme: Travel.
Design :
- Drawing exercises in the form of games to unleash creativity
- Design a jewelry model from a source of inspiration
- Making a model out of paper or copper
Manufacturing :
- Saw cutting (bocfil)
- Introduction to welding
- File & sand
- Finishes & patina of silver
- Hammering
- Reticulation
- Fusion
There will be a lot of theory during the internship. Punctuality will therefore be necessary.
This internship is not intended to carry out your personal projects, nor to create an entire production of parts. The goal is to learn the techniques.
Required level
Beginners (initiation or enhancement)
This course will be of interest to all those who want to acquire the basics required to continue making their jewelry, whether at home or through other courses or training. As well as those who want to acquire some useful tools to learn how to develop an idea into a project.
Equipment required
To be brought by trainees:
- An apron (to protect clothes from dust and chemicals)
- A small box to store small coins and jewellery
- CLOSED SHOES AND LONG PANTS (to protect your legs and feet from burns in case a hot part falls on you)
- An elastic band to tie up long hair
- HB pencil or mechanical pencil for drawing
- Eraser
- A4 sketchbook or A4 drawing paper
- Writing utensils and notes
- Glue stick (pritt)
- 1 pair of scissors
- Cutter
- Ruler, square and compass
- Black permanent markers with fine tips
- Paper respirator (for dust)
- Binoculars or magnifying glass
- A minimum budget of €20 for those wishing to purchase additional equipment on site.
- If you have your own jewellery tools, feel free to bring them with you.

All the tools will be at your disposal on site as well as all products, saw blades, abrasive paper, drills, etc.
Each trainee will also receive a “kit” including the following metals:
- 1 silver plate of 4cm x 8cm
- 1 copper plate of 10cm x 10cm
- Some copper wires
- 1 silver wire of 0.8mm x 20cm
Additional material:
Additional equipment will be available for sale on site for those who wish it.
At the end of the course you will receive all the notes including the theory, addresses of suppliers and useful information. These notes will be sent to you by email once the internship is completed.
