Description

The teacher has long associated the stencil technique with the famous images of Epinal.

Recently, he had the opportunity to take a closer look at the process, during a visit to the Musée de l'Imagerie in Epinal.

The results of this technique greatly impressed him, both by the precision and the brilliance of the colors.

He therefore very quickly decided to exploit this process and include it among the printing techniques that he offers to the artists who frequent the workshop.

Priscilla Becarri, Charlotte Coquen, Raphaël Decoster, Eric Lambé, Bruno Van De Graaf have notably combined the stencil with lithography techniques, giving birth to a series of very unique and colorful prints.

This course proposes to explore the different facets of this technique and possibly combine it with other printing processes (linogravure, xylogravure, digital image, etc.).

In this way, we'll also explore the notion of prints and artist’s books.
