Description

During this week of experimentation and creation, we will immerse our hands in the vats to discover or rediscover the pleasure of papermaking.

To begin, we will work on making simple sheets from recycled pulp and cotton, linen or abaca pulp. We will test the cooking and manipulation of plant fibers such as corn, iris, daylily or kozo in order to transform them into paper.

Over the days, we will gradually enter into a work of research and creation around color, relief, material, transparency, volume, composition. We will observe together the variations related to the way in which the sheet is formed or dried.

The learning will be supported by theoretical contributions and examples of artists whose practice is centered on papermaking.
