Description
For almost half a century, passionate musicians have interpreted baroque music with regard to historical research both at the instrumental level and at the stylistic level.
The course offers an initiation or in-depth study of the cello, bass violin and viols da gamba from the 16th to the 18th century.
Cellists will be offered the opportunity to learn the different tunings of four- and five-string instruments. On the viola da gamba it will be proposed to learn different notations such as tablature, the discovery of a new instrument from the viol family (above, tenor).
Group lessons will be offered for a global and specific approach linked to the two instruments, depending on registrations.
On request (in advance) it will be possible to organize the loan of an instrument or a baroque bow (subject to availability).
Required level
This course is open to all profiles of gambist/cellist: beginners, amateurs with a few years of modern cello practice, but also pre-professionals and professionals.
Equipment required
Bring your instruments but let the teacher know if you need an instrument/bow.
