Let's dive into the heart of New Orleans from the 1900s to the present day.

By learning a traditional and varied repertoire, we will develop the melodic, harmonic and rhythmic aspects of this music.

We will also have the opportunity to separate the work between melodists and rhythm players so that everyone can find his or her place in the group and explore the role and possibilities of his or her instrument.

The artist's book is often associated with a concept, an idea and linked directly or indirectly to the contents. The artist's book is approached by the artist by questioning printing techniques (sometimes unconventional), materials, sequences and the nature of the page. Artist's books take many forms which often deviate from the traditional book form, in the way in which they are designed. They amaze us with the choice of their organization, their form, their material, the subject, which are given to us to discover.

Chroma is the title of the book written by Derek Jarman around color in the last months of his life when he was losing his sight. It is a sort of autobiography through color where chromatic impressions, reflections and childhood memories mingle.

In the context of group work, improvisation is approached via three complementary axes: tools for modal improvisation, for tonal improvisation and for free improvisation. The goal is to have the most universal approach possible to music in order to allow everyone to express themselves freely in all musical circumstances.

During these interventions, we will address a few points which seem essential to us for any improvising musician, whatever their instrument and the style practiced: notions of form, phrase, rhythm, phrasing, etc.

Singing bossa nova means finding that “warm” timbre in your voice while tackling specific rhythms and harmonies. It also means discovering Brazilian poetry and its extraordinary melodies.

This workshop proposes to divert its function, to use its properties in order to explore plastic forms ranging from sculpture to installation, and even to the possibility of performance.
